Overview
The Division of Economics and Business Administration includes the disciplines of accounting, business administration, and economics. Its principal objective is to teach students to understand the social arrangements governing the allocation of resources (economics), to manage efficiently the properties, personnel, and materials of a given firm or other social organization (business administration), or to report and control in a systematic and accurate way the complex relationships of social organization (accounting).
Graduates in any of these areas should be able to deploy the resources of a business or social organization so that it meets its objectives and fulfills its special functional requirements. Graduates should be able to perform effectively in a variety of public or private organizations and in a variety of positions--first at the entry level and later in administration. Graduates should also be equipped to manage their own future development and progress to positions of great challenge and responsibility.
