The University of Colorado at Denver is the Denver campus of the University of Colorado system. It is located in downtown Denver, immediately adjacent to the downtown retail and business districts. Additional information about the campus as a whole can be found on the UCD home page.
The Economics Department currently consists of eight full-time faculty members whose areas of specialization range across the field. At present, we have roughly eighty undergraduate majors and eighty students enrolled in the M.A. program. Both the undergraduate and graduate curricula place a great deal of emphasis on developing the students'' mathematical and quantitative skills, in order to give the students the best possible preparation for the job market and for admission into top-notch Ph.D. programs. Many of our recent graduates have gone on to jobs in
governmental agencies at the state and federal levels, and in the financial
services industry--working as staff economists, financial analysts, etc. Others have gone on to Ph.D. programs in economics and business at schools such as Harvard, Stanford, U.C. - San Diego, Illinois, and Michigan State.
Our faculty maintain active research agendas and regularly publish in the leading journals in their areas of specialization. Morever, the faculty strives very hard to bring the latest research in their fields into the classroom in order to give students the best possible training.
