A Message from the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
As Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, I am responsible for the faculty and academic programs that are central to the success of Dillard University. My goal is to provide inspiration, motivation and leadership of the faculty as they implement academic programs that will prepare students to become creative and responsible citizens.
The programs are guided by our visions of the future as well as understandings of the intellectual skill and competence students will need to succeed. We also anchor these visions in the rich heritage and legacy that have guided Dillard University for more than a century. Therefore, we emphasize academic excellence, social responsibility, and community that embrace past as well as future generations.
The Dillard University faculty continue to maintain high quality academic programs through excellence in research, teaching and service. In a constantly expanding and complex global society, faculty must remain diligent in the processes of discovery, creativity, and scholarship that inform our curriculum, our pedagogy, and social commitments.
My pledge to the Dillard University community is that I will be a leader and administrator who models what I espouse. Looking always to the past as well as the future, “we will lift as we climb.”
