The Department of Economics and Finance is located in Sam Wilson Hall on the East Tennessee State University campus, in Johnson City, Tennessee. The Department has three programs of study: economics, finance, and urban studies. The economics program offers both the Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) and the Bachelor of Arts degree (BA). Students that seek a Bachelor of Business Administration degree may select, as an area of major concentration, either business economics or general business and economics. Students pursuing the BA degree can select from economics or urban and regional studies.
The finance program offers study leading to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree with major areas in corporate finance and investments, banking, or real estate. The major purpose of the department is to provide pragmatic interdisciplinary education for students who wish to enter business or government service or pursue graduate studies in business, economics, law, or public administration.
