Lynchburg College,School of Business and Economics

  The Lynchburg College School of Business was created in February of 1981 by the Board of Trustees of the College. The Department of Economics merged with the School of Business in 1995. The school is divided into three curriculum areas: Management and Marketing; Accounting and Business Law; and Economics. The business unit is headed by a dean who is assisted by two administrative assistants for the undergraduate and graduate programs. Each curriculum area is headed by a program coordinator.


  The School of Business and Economics engages in several special activities throughout the year. These include the Economics Outlook Conference sponsored by the Mason Center and the Chamber of Commerce, publication of the Mason Center Regional Economic Index Report, the Gifford Lecture Series of three annual lectures by top corporate executives, economists, government officials, and others; Management Development Institute seminars and consulting; approximately 35 internships and practicums; an international study tour; Anderson Leadership Conference; and Delta Sigma Pi, Sigma Beta Delta, Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), and Accounting Club activities.
