In the Economics Department at Marshall University, students learn how the American economy functions and how it interacts with the economies of other countries in today's world market. We have developed a course of study which equips students with the ability to analyze a problem, to develop options, and to use decision-making skills to make a choice. Equally important, we incorporate activities into the curriculum which provide students with the oral and written communication skills necessary to present and defend their choice. These skills give Economics majors many alternative career paths to select from because their skills are valued in virtually every activity
