Mission
  The mission of the Michael E. Stephens College of Business is to provide a quality, broad-based, continuously evolving and internationally cognizant undergraduate business education within a liberal-arts university that provides our students with a competitive educational advantage. The Stephens College strives to prepare students for productive careers in both the private and public sectors and to provide academic support to those parts of the University''s academic community where knowledge in business concepts is desired.

 

Accreditation
  The Stephens College is accredited by AACSB - The International Association for Management Education, formerly the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business.

 

Degrees
  The Stephens College offers the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with concentrations in accounting, finance, general business, management and marketing.

 

International Outreach
  During the last three years, international students from 18 countries have enrolled in the Stephens College of Business, and over the last five years, we have taken sixty-three students to Quebec City, Canada, and twenty-eight students to Europe for seminars and cultural activities. In addition, business students at UM may also take advantage of our student exchange agreements to study for a semester in three other countries (Amsterdam School of Business, The Netherlands; Faculty University Saint Louis, Brussels, Belgium; and the University of Laval, Quebec City, Canada). The languages of instruction are English in Amsterdam and French in Brussels and Quebec City.

 

Objectives
to provide a curriculum that is appropriate to a dynamic business environment and suitable to students'' educational and career needs
to implement the curriculum by means of a highly qualified faculty
to provide means of measuring and improving instructional performance, including effective student counseling
to encourage faculty membership and active participation in professional organizations
to provide a business minor for students majoring in other disciplines
to provide assistance to the business community and the public at large
to provide the organization, facilities, and staff to assist faculty research and publication
to encourage presentation of research results by written and oral means
