The Department of Economics is enthusiastically committed to excellence in teaching and research. For undergraduates, the department offers a wide variety of courses in traditional economic subject areas. The Undergraduate Economics Club supports numerous activities for economics majors. In addition, internships and departmental scholarships are awarded to economics majors who distinguish themselves academically.
OU's Economics Department graduate program offers both M.A. and Ph.D degrees. Areas of concentration are industrial organization, international trade and development, and policy analysis. The graduate curriculum places great emphasis on training students to do high-quality empirical work.
The department's faculty consistently publishes in the top journals in the discipline.
