Randolph-Macon College,Department of Economics and Business

The Economics and Business Department introduces its students to the principles of economics and business within the context of the liberal arts tradition. From introductory courses in economic principles to specialized courses in finance and business policy, students are taught to analyze, to synthesize, and to look at alternative approaches. As a result, graduates are prepared to deal effectively with varied economic and business issues. They are also prepared to view society through the prism of several areas of study, including literature, philosophy, history, mathematics, and the sciences. In short, the department prepares its graduates to be literate, competent, and sensitive individuals who are capable of making significant contributions to society as a whole, as well as to a specific employer. With respect to employment, graduates should be able to move rapidly upward in their careers as a result of their rigorous and broadly-based education at Randolph-Macon
