  The Department of Economics consists of eleven faculty members to undergraduate scholarship and research. The Department offers two undergraduate degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). The Department also offers a minor in economics as well as a variety of general education courses and upper level electives. To find out more about the Department''s course offerings or the two degrees which are very different, you should be sure to talk with the the Chair of the Department or the University College advisor to determine what is best suited for your background and career interests.
  Undergraduate training in economics does not generally lead to work after graduation as an economist, but it does provide a liberal arts education which prepares students for a wide array of interesting career options. The degrees are less vocationally oriented than undergraduate business degree, but they provide an educational experience that allows economics majors to apply for many of the positions open to graduating business majors.
