Economists are needed to explain and predict events in a world with two opposing constants條imited resources and unlimited desires. As an economist you could deal with topics such as the energy crisis, inflation, business forecasting, banking, technology, taxation, and poverty. You would analyze these problems in terms relating to choice, equity, and efficiency from individual and social points of view.
Sound important? It is. Economics affects virtually everything we do because we are all involved in the production, distribution, and consumption of wealth to some degree.
To prepare you for the varying demands in economics, Shippensburg University offers three different programs. Our bachelor of arts degree is an economics major within an arts and sciences context. If your immediate goal upon graduation is employment in the business world, our bachelor of science in business administration is your answer. In this program you will take a solid business administration course of study along with a significant amount of economics.
Our bachelor of science in education degree is your ticket to teaching. This relatively new program is tailored to fill the growing need for persons qualified to teach economics at the secondary school levels.
