The School of Economics at Nankai University (SENK) invites applications for positions at assistant, associate and full professor levels in the field of economics, finance and business.
Nankai is located in Tianjin city bordering on the beautiful Bohai sea, which area has become the third “engine” following Shenzhen and Shanghai for driving China’s economic growth. Nankai was one of the first universities initiating economics in China. Economic research was conducted at the very beginning of the establishment of Nankai University in 1919. Many well-known economists and management elites of China are graduates of SENK. SENK actively promoted the policy of combining the economics theory with the reality in China and combining the teaching with research. The Nankai Price Index was a good example, which was worked out by SENK and earned a worldwide reputation.
Since 1995, SENK has been given large funding by the Central Government through the State 211 Project and the Education Renovation Plan. It has adjusted and improved some subjects and focused attention on the key subjects and subjects of feature. As a result, SENK attained a significant improvement in education and research and it has been recognized as one of China’s premier economic school.
SENK is seeking people working for its five departments (the Department of Economics, Finance, International Economics and Trade, Risk Management and Insurance, Public Finance respectively) and five institutes (the Institute of Economics, International Economics, Population and Development Research, Taiwan Economy, Urban and Regional Economics respectively). A successful applicant shall have a Ph.D degree from a strong program, at or near completion. Senior applications shall have excellent records on research and teaching.
