The School of Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, funded by the “Economic Innovative Project -- a long-term “985 project” of Ministries of Education and Finance as well as Shanghai Government, is planning to fill up to 10 faculty positions in the coming year, to join the group of 30 plus permanent faculties hired in the last four years from such renowned universities as Yale, Berkeley, Cornell, Oxford, and Toronto. Ranks and fields are open. 

Compensation package includes salary between RMB 300,000- 1,500,000, research funds, housing allowances, plus standard fringe benefits. For senior position, we also consider six-month appointment. Appointees are expected to engage in active research and teaching and must possess Ph.D. by July 2009. Candidates with great potential or well-established credentials will be considered. We will conduct interview at AEA annual meeting at San Fransisco. Please email cover letter, curriculum vita, sample of written work, three letters of reference, and evidence of teaching effectiveness to eco.shufe@gmail.com and econ@mail.shufe.edu.cn by Dec 15, 2008.
