第十届世界经济学大会志愿者招募

　　由上海交通大学主办的第十届世界经济学大会将于2010年8月16日至21日在上海国际会议中心召开，为保证大会圆满召开，现招募120名学生志愿者。具体要求见下。

Shanghai Jiao Tong University is the host of the 2010 World Congress of the Econometric Society August 16-21, 2010. The World Congress is the premier academic conference in all quantitative fields of economic theory. Since 1965 it is held every five years with locations in North America, Europe and Japan. This is the first time that this event takes place in China. It is in recognition the progress China has made in modernizing economic education and research.

The 2010 ESWC will run for 6 days from Monday August 16 to Saturday August 21 in Shanghai International Convention Centre. About 1200-1500 world renowned economists, including several Nobel Prize winners, are expected to attend the meeting. The meeting will feature five keynote speakers, thirty invited lectures, and hundreds of contributed sessions. In order that this conference runs smoothly, up to 120 student volunteers are needed who must be available throughout the duration of the conference. They will work in different capacities both inside and outside the conference facilities: personal assistants of VIPs, registration desk clerks, guides in hallways, equipment operators in conference rooms, etc. While extensive training will be given to all volunteers, English proficiency is a must as a prerequisite.

This would a very valuable experience for most student volunteers. You can meet many renowned economists in person, have lunches and tea breaks with them. You may also have the chance to sit in sessions where the best economists in the world discuss economic research.
